IP-centric Solutions

Streambox's solutions for live and file-based video are based on the industry-leading ACT-L3™ codec which provides unrivaled performance, reliability, and quality over low data rate IP networks for fast transmission and play-out of video streams in HD and SD. Our end-to-end solutions enable broadcasters, government agencies, enterprises and other users to enhance their content ownership, simplify operations, and increase operational efficiencies.

Customers across a wide range of industries and business sectors rely on us for mission critical broadcast and broadband applications. The scalable Streambox Platform can be integrated into all IP-centric operations using a variety of wired and wireless IP networks.

Harnessing Available IP Networks

Even imperfect networks such as the public Internet or hotel Internet connections can be successfully utilized for reliable, high quality Streambox video transport. In fact, Onstream Media routinely uses these types of network connections to deliver live webcasts to itsFortune 1000 customers.

Streambox’s advanced networking capabilities, including Forward Error Correction (FEC), are critical to ironing out network imperfections. As an example, user-selectable presets enable our customers to easily adjust settings such as FEC, buffering size, and target bit rate to match the characteristics of the particular network being used.

Many news organizations use a combination of networks, including BGAN, to transmit higher quality live and file-based video and audio over low bandwidth connections. Mobile networks such as EV-DO, WiMAX, 3G, and Wireless LAN can also be successfully utilized.
